[Friends] FW: Any objections to a proposed 3-day evangelical event in Lordship Rec (9-11.7.09)?

I recall that in previous summers preacher events in the Lordship Rec have been very loud and intrusive, audible to annoyance level even as far away as Sirdar Road. I think it would be reasonable to expect that amplification should be kept to a level not substantially audible outside the park boundary. It's a rather precious time of year for people to have quiet enjoyment of their gardens in the evenings.
I would also be concerned that any damage to grass be paid for or made good - with that number of people, a wet evening could create a load of mud.

Apologies for sending this to individual WGRA committee members rather than just the WGRA mailbox - some of you may not check it /only do so occasionally and might see this too late.

To all Friends
The Council parks dept have asked us whether we have any objections to a proposed 3-day national evangelical rally in Lordship Rec (Thurs 9th - Sat 11th July 2009, 5.50pm - 9.30pm)? Details are below. 1,000 people expected each day. They aim to have amplification, music and speeches in the main field (their site map indicates they aim to cover a large area with seating). They are not a local group.
If so, let me know by Wed 18th March in case we decide to send in our views as the Friends..
