Bike Week bike rides - Sunday 13th June at 10am and Wednesday 23rd June at 7pm Hi everyone
Here are details of two bike rides in Haringey to celebrate National Bike
Week (www.bikeweek.org.uk)
This Sunday in association with Green Lens Studio and Haringey Council
there will be a family bike ride. We will be meeting at 09.45am at
Finsbury Park café for a 10am departure. We will ride to Alexandra Palace
for a free picnic provided by Haringey Council at 12.30pm via three parks
in Haringey – Chestnuts, Downhills and Lordship Rec where we can use the
model traffic village (used to teach previous generations of Haringey
children about rules of the road!) and BMX track.
There will be a Dr.Bike at Finsbury Park cafe from 9-11am.
The ride is suitable for children on bike seats or trailers, and older
ones on their own bikes, but they do need to have a little bit of road
sense as there will be some road riding on quiet roads. We'll probably be
cycling around 4 miles.
We need a few marshals to join us for this family ride - please let me
know if you can help out.
On Wednesday 23rd June in association with NHS Haringey there is an evening
ride from Manor House to Crouch End. We are meeting at 6.45pm at Finsbury
Park (Manor House entrance) and will ride along Parkland Walk to Highgate
Cricket Club (off Park Road N8). There will be Thai food available at the
end of the ride for £2.50, but we need to know numbers in advance so we
can plan for the catering.
Please let me know if you are planning to join us on both or either of the
rides, or would like anymore information.
Regards
Adam
