The Trax Off Road Cycling Club of Lordship Rec has a number of exciting 
volunteer opportunities available. The list is below. For more

*General Volunteer*
Description: We need new people to support the running of the youth club 
for 8-16 year olds on Saturday mornings. Availability can be discussed 
on a case-by-case basis, and you should expect to help out on not more 
than 2 weekends per month.
Main Duties and Responsibilities: Aid in the registering of kids on 
arrival and talking with families. Managing the setting up and setting 
down of the club hut before and after the coaching sessions. 
Opportunities to assist the coaches in the preparation and delivery of 
cycle coaching sessions are also available.
Requirements for candidates: A friendly disposition with common sense. 
Some experience of working with children and adults in a working group 
environment is preferable.You must be able to communicate confidently 
with adults and children. You must be willing to undertake appropriate 
police checks.

*Assistant Coach*
Description: We need new people to coach children in off road cycle 
training, using a safe, enjoyable, purposeful approach to provide a fun 
learning environment. Availability can be discussed on a case-by-case 
basis, and you should expect to coach on not more than 2 weekends per month.
Main Duties and Responsibilities: You will be coaching small groups of 
children (age 8-16) in cycling techniques on Saturday mornings.The 
coaching plans and material will be prepared for you by other coaches in 
the club (opportunities to get involved in the preparation of coaching 
sessions are available). You will have to keep accurate records and 
comply with club policies and procedures.
Requirements for candidates: You must be able to communicate clearly and 
confidently, promoting cycling in a safe and enthusiastic manner. You 
will be a regular, confident cyclist and have a roadworthy cycle to use 
for training. Some experience of working with children and adults in a 
working group environment is preferable. You must be willing to 
undertake appropriate nationally accredited coaching training and First 
Aid training (both paid for by the Trax) and police checks. The Trax 
will support you in and provide funding for appropriate training: 
British Cycling Level 1 Certificate in Coaching (Cycling) . First aid 
Qualification. Additional Training Opportunities:Bike maintenance 
training. Various sports coach UK courses. Pro-active North London - 
Equity in your coaching. Pro-active North London - How to Coach Disabled 
People in Sport

*Club Welfare Officer*
Main Duties and Responsibilities: Representing the young members’ (young 
and other vulnerable people) views and interests on welfare matters in 
liaison with British Cycling National Child Protection Officer (NCPO) on 
matters of child protection. Dealing with any concerns of the welfare or 
protection of young members, and be the first point of contact for club 
staff, members, volunteers, children and parents for any issues 
concerning child welfare, poor practice or potential/alleged 
abuse.Establishing procedures for dealing with welfare issues, and 
ensuring that welfare issues are addressed and discussed internally and 
when liaising with external organisations.

Promoting British Cycling's 'Policy and Procedures for the Protection of 
Children and Vulnerable Adults', including distribution and display of 
leaflets and codes of conduct to members, parents and young members, and 
supporting the chairman in setting appropriate club rules and Code of 
Conduct. Provide support and advice on child protection for the 
development of activities within the Club. Ensure CRB checks are carried 
out for all relevant staff / club members and volunteers.(Supporting the 
registration of all personnel involved in activities for young members 
within the Trax Club.) Reporting to the NCPO any concerns relating to 
the welfare of young members within the Club. The Trax will support you 
in and provide funding for appropriate training Sports coach UK - Good 
Practice and Child protection workshop.NSPCC (Child Protection in Sport) 
Time to Listen workshop. Pro-active North London – Safeguarding & 
Protecting Children

*Coach*

*Treasurer*
Main Duties and Responsibilities: Managing the finances of the Club. 
Raising funds through appeals, subscriptions, loans and charges. 
Identifying, preparing and submitting bids to appropriate funding 
sources. Ensuring the Club maintains adequate insurance cover. Producing 
a statement of annual accounts. Reporting to the committee as required 
on all financial matters.
The Trax will support you in and provide funding for appropriate

The Trax is an exciting brand new off road cycling club for the riders 
of Lordship Recreation Ground (the Rec), Tottenham and North London. 
Affiliated to British Cycling and the CTC (UK’s national cyclists' 
organisation) it offers a Saturday morning Youth club for 8-16 year olds
